Motor learning is basically how your muscles learn to move in a sequence such as how to walk or drive a car. This learning pattern occurs within your central nervous system. As you continuously perform a skill, your body adapts through practicing the skill repetitively, with good technique, until it becomes muscle memory this is also the key to learning to swim. In saying this, the more you swim correctly, the quicker you will develop these skills ensuring you have good technique during practice.
You will notice I am very repetitive in my methods and I will correct all technique no matter how small a skill it is from the beginning as the body will learn everything a certain way and I don’t want to have to correct learnt behaviours when we get to more advanced skills.
